Submission: Starting Monday, March 11, 2024, using Slideroom.
Deadline: Friday, June 21, 2024.
Eligibility: Open to all visual artists in all media. Entries must have been completed within the last two years.
Process for Selection: Artists will be selected from online submissions by a faculty committee. Up to four artists are awarded annually with a solo gallery exhibition in one of two gallery spaces (each approximately 13’ x 25’) at the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona.
Media Specifications: Artists creating original works of art in any media are encouraged to apply. If awarded, artwork must be suitable for installation and must not exceed 84” in any firm dimension. Two-dimensional works must not weigh more than 60 lbs., including the frame, and must be ready to hang with the appropriate attached hardware. Three-dimensional works weighing over 80 lbs must have a base that can be rolled or composed of elements that can be easily moved. Digital and non-traditional media will be considered.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee
Entry requirements:
- Vitae—One copy, no more than two pages.
- Artist Statement—One copy, no more than one page.
- Images—A maximum of twenty-four images may be submitted for review. Video work will also be uploaded to psualtoona.slideroom.com for review (flv, wmv, mov) up to 60 MB each).
Acceptance: Artists who are accepted will be notified by Monday, July 1, 2024. Artwork would be displayed for eight to ten between August and December. Accepted artists will be notified of gallery dates, promotional deadlines, and gallery after accepting the exhibition offer.
Delivery of Work: If awarded, artwork may be hand-delivered or shipped prepaid to Ivyside Juried Exhibition, Penn State Altoona. Penn State Altoona will make every effort to cover return shipping. Penn State Altoona will only cover the cost of shipping one way. Final shipping costs to be determined based on the available budget. Each exhibition will have labels, a poster, an email blast, and a simple checklist.
